Each year, the Performing Arts Series presents a series of entertainment events. The 2017-2018 season at UUCM is shaping up to be another great one!

The Minnetonka Civic Orchestra will be performing twice during the season. Created in 1976, the Minnetonka Civic Orchestra provides enjoyable, educational and artistically solid musical experiences for its members and audience. Concerts are free and open to the public and are held here at UUCM in the Sanctuary.
Come and join us on Saturday, December 2nd, from 7 - 10 PM for the first MOVIE NIGHT in the new church! We will be watching 13th, a documentary about the 13th Amendment and its effects on the lives of African Americans, with discussion to follow. Bring popcorn or a snack to share if you wish. Movie will start at 7:30. The 13th Amendments states: "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." With this amendment began the mass incarceration of millions of black Americans and continues to this day. This documentary sheds light on the history of this amendment and how it has shaped our country's history ever since. Here is a review of the movie by Roger Ebert. Questions, please contact Amy Putkonen.
